Startup GTM advisor · a fractional CMO alternative for founders from 0 to $1M

You've built the product. Now build the go-to-market that gets you to $1M.

1:1 go-to-market advisory for founders who need CMO-level thinking before a full-time CMO makes sense: positioning, ICP, pricing, demand and a repeatable path to revenue. You work every week with an operator who scaled startups from zero to $10M.

Sound familiar?

The product is working. Revenue isn't keeping up.

Between zero and $1M, go-to-market rarely has a full-time owner. It sits with the founder, on top of everything else.

01

Positioning is fuzzy

Customers like the product but can't explain what it does. Every deal needs you in the room.

02

Pricing was a guess

You picked a number to get started. It's now leaving money on the table or slowing deals down.

03

Growth depends on you

Most customers came from your network or your own outreach. Nobody else on the team could run the motion.

04

Lots of channels, little traction

Some LinkedIn, some outbound, a launch, an agency trial. Plenty of activity and no channel that compounds.

How it works

Weekly go-to-market work with an experienced operator

01

A 20-minute call

Where you are, what's stuck and whether I'm the right person to help. If I'm not, I'll tell you.

02

GTM diagnosis

In our first session we go through positioning, ICP, pricing, channels and numbers, and pick the one constraint holding revenue back.

03

Working sessions

Up to four a month on what's live: a pricing change, an outbound sequence, a launch, your first GTM hire.

04

Chat in between

Unlimited. Send the deck, the landing page or the cold email before it goes out.

What's included

One offer, five founders at a time.

Fractional CMO, consultant or advisor?

Four ways to get senior go-to-market help before $1M

A fractional CMO joins your team part-time and runs marketing. A GTM consultant delivers a project and leaves. A GTM advisor works with you every week while your team does the work. Here's how they compare.

Who it's for

Built for founders between 0 and $1M

A good fit if…

  • You have a product and your first customers
  • You own go-to-market yourself and haven't hired a senior GTM lead
  • Any model: B2B, B2C, marketplace, SaaS or otherwise
  • You want someone to think with, and your team ships between sessions

Not a fit if…

  • You're pre-product and still deciding what to build. Start here instead
  • You want an agency to run campaigns for you
  • You're past $1M with a GTM team in place

About

hi, I'm Madalena.

Leading teams at Google. Scaling startups from zero to $10M in revenue. Most of my career has been on the go-to-market side of tech companies.

Today I advise and invest in startups and run a portfolio of internet businesses, including Mazo, an AI GTM advisor for B2B SaaS founders. The advice you get is the advice I use.

I work with five founders at a time, so I know each company's numbers and what we decided last session.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Are you a fractional CMO?

I work as your go-to-market advisor, which sits one step before a fractional CMO. A fractional CMO usually joins the team a few days a month and runs marketing. I work with you every week on positioning, pricing, ICP and channels, review what your team builds, and your team does the execution. When you're ready for a fractional or full-time CMO, we define the role together.

How much does a fractional CMO cost compared with this?

A 2026 benchmark of 53 UK fractional CMOs by Primewise puts a four-day-a-month retainer at £4,800 to £7,200 a month. Startup GTM Advisory is 3,000€ a month with a 3-month minimum, for up to four working sessions plus unlimited chat. It suits founders who need senior thinking and have a team that ships.

Do you take one-off go-to-market consulting projects?

No. The work is monthly, because go-to-market changes need a few cycles to test and adjust. The 3-month minimum covers finding what's capping revenue, changing it and seeing whether the change worked.

Do you only work with SaaS startups?

No. I work with B2B, B2C, marketplace and services-led startups, because the go-to-market fundamentals carry across. B2B SaaS founders also get Mazo for the work between sessions.

Is this hands-on execution?

It's advisory. We make the decisions together and I review what your team builds before it ships. If you need someone to run campaigns, an agency is a better fit.

How is this different from hiring a Head of Growth?

A senior GTM hire takes months to find and costs a full salary. This can start after a 20-minute call, and when you're ready to hire, we define the role together.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Three months. That's enough time to find what's capping revenue, change it and see whether the change worked. After that it's month to month.

Why only five founders?

So each founder works with someone who knows their numbers, their customers and what we decided last session.

What happens on the call?

20 minutes on where you are, what's stuck and whether this is the right help. You'll leave with the first thing to fix, whether or not we work together.

I'm not running a startup yet. I want to start something.
